The story behind our business model is simple: As homeowners who have bought and sold several houses, we got frustrated with having to pay 6% in commissions to sell our home and then watch our agent make another 3% when we buy our next home. If I sold a $500,000 home and then purchased a $500,000 home, my agent would make $30,000 in total commissions for the two transactions - $15,000 to sell my home and $15,000 to help buy my next home. This seemed excessive.
We set out to find a better way by focusing on our customers. In doing so, we came up with a business model that would allow us to remain profitable while providing an avenue for our customers to keep more of their money - all without compromising the extent and quality of the services we provide.
